ICAIR hosts an Intensive Collaboration event: Sector Deal For Construction and Infrastructure Maintenance Sectors

Exploring Opportunities for Growth through Collaboration

Main Outline of workshop:
Designed specifically for organisations already active in the Construction or Infrastructure Maintenance sectors, or which have digital skills or technology that could potentially be applied in those sectors and interested in finding out more about how they can benefit from the UK Government’s Sector Deal.

The Sector Deal offers the industry a unique opportunity to champion the substantial contribution Construction and Infrastructure Maintenance Sectors make to the UK economy and to push for the necessary support to drive UK industry forward.

The intensive collaboration event will focus on the ambitious Sector Deal proposed by the UK Government in 2018 and the opportunities this opens for SMEs to boost innovation and grow productivity, with expert consultancy available to support promising collaborations (worth up to £5000).

Anticipated outcomes for attendees:
- Better understanding of the Sector Deal and its benefits
- Access to the latest 'thinking' on how to stimulate innovation and productivity in Construction and Infrastructure Maintenance Sectors
- Identify collaboration opportunities with ICAIR experts, with up to 5 days expert advice available to eligible participants to progress this.

About ICAIR 
Integrated Civil and Infrastructure Research (ICAIR) Centre, at the University of Sheffield, a recently commissioned uniquely powerful experimental facility for investigating both underground and above ground infrastructure using data, artificial intelligence and advanced manufacturing techniques to increase productivity in the design, construction and operation of civil infrastructure. ICAIR proudly hosts the UK Collaboratorium for Research on Infrastructure and Cities (UKCRIC) National Distributed Water Infrastructure Facility.

This workshop is open to small to medium sized organisations in the Sheffield City Region and will be delivered on the 24th September (10:00 - 16:00) and 25th September (08:00 - 14:00)
