In the workshop we also launched a new bridge-specific version of the layopt.com web-app (https://www.layopt.com) and a new version of the Peregrine plugin for Rhino/Grasshopper (https://www.food4rhino.com/en/app/peregrine) which includes tools tailored for the design of long-span structures.
The underpinning research was undertaken by ICAIR researchers in collaboration with COWI and LimitState Ltd, funded by EPSRC. It extends an earlier study, though further work is required to address construction and aerodynamic issues.
